In September I had the opportunity to attend my very first ADF festival, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I attended Midnight Flame Festival in Bellaire, Michigan. The fellowship was amazing and I could not have been more pleased with the experience.
I got to spend some time talking with Drum, who is an absolute inspiration to me. I also got to meet Ian Corrigan, whose books I have read and writing I have admired from afar for a while. The event was hosted by Flip Rutledge and his family. They have the greatest appreciation for hospitality that I have ever encountered.
I made the trip to Michigan with Amanda Thomas who is the Senior Druid for Ad Astra Grove in Topeka Kansas. I was blessed to have her by my side for such an incredible adventure.
I also was pleased to be one of the organizers for the first Omaha Pagan Pride Day! It took a huge amount of planning, but the event was a total success with happy vendors, pleasant atmosphere, and 150 participants. It far exceeded our expectations and I am so excited to see what next year brings.
I also gave my very first workshop on Druidry at PPD and was very pleased with how many people showed up to listen to me ramble. I was SO nervous, but I think things turned out fairly well.
My last bit of news is the creation of Prairie Shadow Protogrove, ADF. Shortly after I returned from Midnight Flame I decided to put in an application to start the first ever protogrove in Nebraska. It was officially approved on October 1st and the support from ADF and the amazing amount of interest I have seen in the area have both shocked me. We will be holding our first ritual at the end of the month and I am so pleased to finally be starting a group in Nebraska. This also makes the Central Region of ADF the very first region to have a protogrove or grove in every state. I am so proud of everything that has been accomplished in the area in the last 18 months. I am up for re-election for Regional Druid in the spring and really hope to be able to continue in this role.
So as you can see, things have been a bit crazy, but definitely in a good way. Hopefully I will blog more regularly, but I really can't guarantee that. Thank you everyone for your love and support. I'm very proud to be a part of this community.
